A Place For Ribs
Another day in Bangkok was just what we needed. We slept in late this morning and then enjoyed our free breakfast at our hotel. This was the first day of our travels that we didn’t have anything that we “had’ to do. We hopped on the sky train and took it to National Stadium. About 5 blocks west of National Stadium was a store called Tesco Lotus. If you do not know what this is, it is the Wal-mart Supercenter equivalent. We didn’t buy much of anything, but we all enjoyed walking around in the big store. Even the signs looked Wal-martish. We took the sky train back to Siam Center and walked around for most of the day. Everybody seems to be feeling pretty healthy now.Since our breakfast was so late, we decided to skip lunch and eat an early dinner. You are not going to believe this, but there is a Tony Romas in the Paragon just across from Siam Center. Angie and I got the combo chicken and ribs and split it with the kids. OH-MY-GOODNESS! It truly is a place for ribs! We both had the Carolina Honeys and the BBQ chicken was just like home. If only they had Dr. Pepper! We got back to the room and all took showers and got ready for our online fellowship. Since we are in hotel room that offers Internet service in our room, we decided to tune into our friends in Tulsa. It was great to hear Deron and listen to our friends. Some of our friends are leaving on a special trip and we were able to be part of sending them off. What a great day this turned out to be. I hope all of you enjoyed your day as much as we enjoyed ours.
