Meeting the demands…

We do our best. You ask and we deliver. Kyndal says thanks for the comments. In one of the comments – (Aunt B – she and Aunt Amy are some of our favorites because the comment just about every day….sometimes more than once a day) was another request for more pics. Well we had several things to do on the main island today so we decided to take the camera along. We pretty much did what we always did and left it in the bag all day and forgot to take any pics. It was just a piece of jewelry we wore all day in this world of tourist…we fit right in. For the last week, Braden has been begging to ride on the front part of the boat. I think he has seen a couple of other guys up there, so he wants to stand up on the front of the boat and hold on to the rail. Before today, we had not let him. But as all kids do, they have a way of asking over and over and over again. I finally decided today that either he was going to stand up in the front or I was gonna make him swim back… (I think most of you with kids know what I am talking about.) Well we let him and what a wonderful day to pick. As it became cloudy, Braden spotted a funnel cloud developing. If you dont know Braden very well, 5 years in Oklahoma really pulled out the meteorologist in him. He was waving at us and trying to get our attention and pointing. I finally got up and went to the front of the boat and listened to his dissertation on water spouts and funnel clouds. We remembered that we had the camera and it was time for Braden to make his debut as a real live water spout chaser. You can see it by ___A_OPEN___a href=”http://www.bobbycox.org/media/storm_story/storm_story.html”___clicking here. Braden sent an email to Dick Faurot at Chanel 6 in Tulsa (He and Jim Giles are his heros) Maybe he will respond. He probably will, those guys in Tulsa get pretty excited about stuff like that.We wanted to let you all know that we will be traveling for 3 or 4 days starting July 26. This is really amazing and I want to tell you the whole story, I hope you dont get bored with it. When we first moved here, Angie had met a family on the beach and wanted me to meet them. Well as circumstances arose (sickness, travel, etc) I never met them. It just so happens that the island is small enough to bump into people again. Well sure enough we did and this time I met the gentleman. We traded pleasantries and went on our way. Well just the other day, I was walking to the bank and he was sitting having coffee. He asked me to come back and join him after my business at the bank, so I did. We had a great conversation about his business and my business it was a wonderful time. Towards the end of the conversation, I told him about my desire to create an “adventure tour” for Americans. I told him my plan about creating a tour where we go to non-tourist islands and soak in the culture. Here the tourist would engage with boat builders, hand crafted native art, enjoy the food, and lodging, etc. He told me he knew just the place. He began to tell me about his group of islands. He named the different crafts and interests. I remain overwhelmed at how my steps are guided. He told me of about 4 or 5 islands and how we could make it a tour. I suggested that maybe he could take me sometime and he said how about on the 26th. You see the 26th is the Independence Day and it makes for a long weekend (Thursday – Saturday.) He told me he was already planning to go and take his family. He invited our family to come along and enjoy the holiday with his family. He and I will take a day or two and make the rounds to the other island while my family enjoys true island life. Survivor here we come! Lets just hope I dont get voted off the island before we can make it back. I have already warned Angie of the possible living conditions and she is cool with it.Ok, the story is just getting going. I get back to my office and check my email and I have a friend that wants to bring a group of people to this part of the world. I told him about this ‘adventure’ gig and he loves it. So, we are going to go check it out, and my buddy and his friends are getting their shots and buying plane tickets. I am so pumped!
