A Day in the Life of Kyndal

Oh if we could see the world from a hight of 46 inches. Today, Kyndal will do her best to tell us about what a typical day looks like from her point of view.My day begins about 7:15am when I wake up in mine and Bradens room. I am sleeping on a twin mattress in the floor. Braden gets to sleep on a bed. My sheets are pink, just like I like them. Usually after I get up, I take Lovey to see my mom and dad. Lovey is my lamb that I sleep with and have slept with for the last 6 years (all of my life.) I like to smell of Loveys ear – specifically her left ear. I think it smells the best. After I get in bed with my mom and dad, my mom gets up to make coffee and my dad tries to steal Lovey from me. I usually eat eggs and toast for breakfast. I like my eggs scrambled with salt. I prefer strawberry jelly on my toast.Since we are still on our summer break, I dont have to do any school yet. So after breakfast, I flip on the TV and put in my favorite DVD. I pretty much watch the movie “Sleepover” at least every other day. I have a lot of movies to choose from, but Sleepover is my favorite. At some point during the movie, I usually ask my mom for piece of gum. She always says, No gum until you are dressed and your teeth are brushed. So I skip off to my room to ready myself for the day. While I am getting dressed, my brother usually changes the movie. I usually forget what part of the movie I was watching anyway, but I never forget to ask mom for that piece of gum. So together we watch the movie Braden has picked. After the movie, I will either play a game with my mom like Old Maid or color a picture. Sometimes we even play Polly Pockets… that is my favorite. Polly pockets are my tiny little dolls that have thousands of tiny little coats, purses and shoes. Mom and I set up a mall for the dolls to get fixed up and ready to go shopping. Mom has to stop playing early because she has her mom stuff to do, but next thing you know it is time for lunch. My mom learned how to make some really good – non spicy – chicken fried rice. We all sit at our little table in our kitchen. There is a clothesline that goes over our table. It stretches from one side of the room to the other. It is usually filed with clothes. After lunch, Braden and I play outside. I have a friend that lives in the flat next to us. Her name is Nezly. She is older than me, but likes to play with me. Sometimes we swim, make cakes out of Kleenex and water (I got in trouble for that one), paint coral with my paints, but my favorite is throwing trash at Braden and Husane on his bike. We just pick up plastic bottles and throw it at the tires as the boys ride by.After I get all sweaty, its usually time to watch another movie or do some more coloring with mom. If we have to go to the strip, we might go at this time. The strip is a group of small shops and is where we go to get rice, eggs, powdered milk and other food stuff. One of the shops always gives me 4 or 5 small pieces of candy. Mom does not always want to go to that store, but I beg her to stop in for at least one thing. She usually does. One time, they dumped the jar of candy over so I could pick out my favorite ones. I took all the red ones. The candy is kind of like a Starburst but not really.By this time, the weather is cooling off enough that my mom and dad like to go to the beach. We have a lot of friends that we play with on the beach. My mom and dad usually sit down and talk with all the adults. Sometimes we are out on the beach for hours… usually until dark. Its my dads job to help me with my shower while my mom fixes dinner. The shower is always cold. I start by getting water on my feet and then my legs…. it helps me adjust to the cold. Sometimes we go eat at a little place by all the shops. There food is always so spicy so if they have them, I just order a cheese sandwich. We usually have rice or noodles at home for dinner. Its now time to get my bed out. My bed sits on Bradens bed during the day so we can play in my room. After my mom reads the book to us, my dad comes in to say good night. Again, he tries to steal Lovey and make me laugh and scream. My mom usually gets frustrated at my dad for trying to make me crazy and wild right before I go to sleep, but it only takes a couple of sniffs of Loveys ear and I fall right a sleep. It is hot in our house at night, so I dont sleep with a cover or anything. Sometimes my dad will come in late after I am asleep and he says I talk to him. The other night, I sat up and said – why are you crying – to my dad. He laughed at me and said – I dont know why are you crying. He said I went back to sleep. So tomorrow morning, we will talk about all the things I said in my sleep at breakfast and we will do all over again.Thats what I do everyday,Kyndal
