Blogger In Training
Bet when you saw the title of today's entry, you figured Bobby was teaching one of the kids to take over the blog. You'd be wrong – it's me, Angie! I'm giving this blogging thing another shot, now that my schedule is so “freed up!” Actually, in the past two weeks since school has started, I've found enough daily tasks to keep me busy . . . Sunday(our first school day of the week) is house cleaning day; Monday, groceries (takes about 3 different stops on the capitol island to fix us up for a week); Tuesday, morning tea with a dear friend who is at home everyday with 3 boys, all under age 5; Wednesday, working on meeting with a language tutor again; and Thursday, the day I do everything else I didn't get done! Now, we're adding the blogging and budget responsibilities, but I'm not complaining! And you can be sure of this – the blog may not be as exciting, but every word will be spelled correctly!!! (Just kidding, honey. You know I think it's cute that you can't spell!)nnSo, today (Friday) was the first day of our weekend. We actually started it on Thursday night with a sleepover. We picked up two American girls from another island to spend the night at our house. They are 8 and 10, with Kyndal in between. They bonded the first time they met, which was about two years ago. Their family is about to move to the most southern atoll, so we won't see them very often. They made the most of their last slumber party for awhile! Braden usually tries to disappear when Kyndal has friends over. They get very giddy over the “big brother!” We all watched a great movie last night – “Evan Almighty.” For anyone who's ever read the title and shyed away from it, go rent it. It's great! Of course, it could be that everyone we know has already seen it, and we're just catching up. Anyway, it came highly recommended by the local who owns the video store where we got it. We were very entertained and very pleased.nnToday was a relaxing day. The girls chose to stay inside and play, as opposed to joining the Friday crowds on the beach. Braden and Bobby went out and played some football. Then, tonight we had pizza with a homemade crust that I just learned to make! At times in the past, we've found the ready-made crusts in Male, but those days seem to be over, and since we can't imagine life without pizza . . . I took a risk! It was pretty good. I need a couple more tries at it, which my family has graciously offered to give me. So, tummies are full, the dishes are done, and we're about to call it a day. Tomorrow is our family meeting day.nnHey, this was pretty fun. I'll try it again sometime. Until next time . . .
