There is no place like Meagan’s block
Well we have been gone from our homeland for over 24 hours. We are in London. Gee wiz everything is so expensive here. Brado said, “This is the coolest place in the world.” Mom said, “Yeah, but there is no place like home.” Kindy said, “There is no place like Meagan’s block.” I guess you have to know Kindy’s friend Meagan and know where she lives to really get that. London was a bit of a challenge for us at first. We had only slept a few hours on the plane and then it was time to deboard, claim bags (8 of them) recheck bags for storage. A bottle of listerine exploded in one suitcase and a bottle of sunscreen in another. We have traveled enough to know better than to make that kind of a mistake. Anyway, we took the tube to Paddington and then took the Underground out to our hotel. We were misinformed about the station, so we ended up walking about 20 minutes on 3 hours of sleep and with some cranky and hungry kids. Too bad we got to our hotel so early, we were unable to check in until after 2:00pm and we got there about 10:00am. We took some time to hike over to Buckingham Palace, rode the Undergrounds to a couple of other stations and saw a lot of funny looking cars. Like I said, it was a little tough at first, but once we all got a little rest, we all seem to be smiling again and enjoying the sites. I am at an Internet Cafe just down the street from the laundry place… the washers will rinse and spit the rest of the mouth wash out of our clothes. I thought I could catch everyone up on our adventure through our blog. We bought tickets for a double-decker tour bus tomorrow. Should be a blast. I’ll try to post again tomorrow night along with some pics. We leave London at 2:00pm our time on June 4. This will be 8:00am back in T-town on the 4th.
