Adventure Tour
Ok, please forgive me. So many of you have emailed and said, “I need my blog fix.” I am so sorry for not being there for you. We started the series, “A Day In the Life Of…” and then vanish… We are gone. We will pick back up with the theme tomorrow, but for now, let me explain the absence. We left on the 26th of July to do a scouting trip for our business. Our family along with another family we met here on our island went to their home islands for the visit. I wrote about this opportunity a while back in the post entitled – Meeting The Demands (2nd paragraph). Anyway, we left and were not anywhere near a computer connection or any other modern day conveniences for that matter. I will write all about the journey and post it in a later blog. We met some incredible people and saw some amazing things. Let me just share of one in writing and let you look at the rest in pictures. (See our latest pictures ___A_OPEN___a href=”http://www.bobbycox.org/media/adventure_tour/adventure_tour.html”___here)Ok, the one thing we saw that I cannot show the picture was the 6 Ft Manta Ray. Braden and I were snorkeling off an uninhabited island and it went buy right in front of us. Braden was just a little bit ahead of me, but he didn’t see it. I was afraid he was going to swim right on top of it, so I grabbed his arm and pointed. (We have an underwater sign language we use to point out really cool stuff and acknowledge the other has seen it without having to come up out of the water.) Well I used the sign language to point out the Manta Ray and he forgot to give me the thumbs up that he had seen it. He took off swimming back to the shore, making all kinds of sounds (I could hear him underwater) kicking me and making all kinds of bubbles. I came up and grabbed his leg as he went by to stop him. I said, “Lets go back and look.” He said no way and began kicking again and flapping his arms in a frantic manner. I went back and all I could see was bubbles and sand. Anyway, I didn’t have an underwater camera, but I will next time. This guy was every bit as big as me. It was so cool. Ok, the rest (even better stuff) I will write about in a future blog and get back with you. For now know that we are safe back in our little flat enjoying life. We did have a little accident while we were gone. Somebody threw a stone through our window and broke the window. Fortunately my neighbor heard the glass break and informed the landlord. He sent somebody to fix it right away. This in itself was quite amazing. Nothing has been repaired this quickly. We think this was just a foolish kid and not animosity towards the foreigners. Anywho, enjoy the ___A_OPEN___a href=”http://www.bobbycox.org/media/adventure_tour/adventure_tour.html”___pics and check back tomorrow.
