32 Years & Sedona
Angie and I made a quick getaway to Sedona this week, celebrating 32 years of marriage and escaping the Phoenix heat for a few days. It’s amazing how just a short drive up the mountain can land you in a whole new world—cooler air, slower pace, and those unmistakable red rock views that never get old.
We found a great last-minute deal on Booking.com and stayed at the Hilton Vacation Club Sedona Summit. Great spot. The kind of place where you can just breathe a little deeper. From our east-facing balcony, we watched the sun rise behind the mountains, turning them into dark silhouettes against a brightening sky. And every evening, we sat in awe as the same rocks softened in the golden hour. It’s hard to describe, but there’s something special about those bookends to the day.

We did a short hike out to Devil’s Bridge—those panoramic views make me wish I could spend all day on the trails. One evening after dinner, we stretched out in a hammock just outside our suite, soaking in the quiet. And of course, no day was complete without some time by the pool. No agenda. No rush. Just time—time to rest, reflect, laugh, and remember why, after all these years, we still genuinely enjoy being together.

That’s probably what I’m most grateful for—after all these years, Angie is still the person I want to spend all my time with. We enjoy so many of the same things, and even when we’re doing nothing at all, it still feels like something meaningful.
Here’s to 32 years of life, love, and a few quiet days in the red rocks.
