2 Down 2 To Go

We started our language school this week and we are super excited. Our first class had only 5 students and the second class had 7. We think there are a few more that will join, but we are happy with the small numbers for the first session. We are pretty sure our classes will grow by word of mouth and the small classes gives us a chance to make some mistakes with embarrassing ourselves too much.

Getting the school going was not easy and we have faced a lot of frustration just trying to get things organized. We believe we are on the right track and each one of us on the staff feel like we understand our role and are ready to move forward.

I got to be part of teaching English I on the first night and I think everyone enjoyed it. Angie was the lead teacher with the Intro to English and she said the ladies in the class were “beaming” with smiles all through the class. She said she wasn't sure if they understood anything, but they were happy to be there.

Each class meets 2 days a week, so we have 2 down and 2 to go this week.

Teaching the extra classes is a strain on our lives, but we think it will be worth it in the end. We have a volunteer here to help us and he is doing a great job and will take the lead role on the English I class.
