Carrom Tournament
Kyndal decided she wanted to be part of a club at school, so her friends invited her to the Carrom Club. Carrom is a board game that is super popular in India.
Not convinced that she really wanted to do this (partly my fault) she missed the first meeting where they explained the rules and talked about the club. The peer pressure kicked in the next day at school when all of her friends asked why she didn't come to the Carrom Club meeting. So the next night, she insisted that I take her to the meeting. I obliged and took her to the meeting. I joked with her and told her that the first rule of Carrom was to learn to wag your head back and forth when you play. She told me that I was not funny. After and hour and half, I went back to the school to pick her up. She told me that they had a tryout tonight for a Carrom tournament and that she was selected to be on the team. So Kyndal's first time to play, she gets selected for a team to play in a tournament on the main island.
I got a call from the secretary at the school the next day. Kyndal was right. She was selected. The lady told me that we needed to take Kyndal to the National Stadium on the main island for 17 hours on Friday. Seventeen hours? What? Turns out, the lady used the wrong preposition. She meant at 17:00 (5:00PM) hours not for 17 hours. So there goes our weekends. Should be fun. Kyndal loves it… I guess that's all that matters.
