Kyndal, Braden and I were sitting on Braden’s bed listening to music. We decided we needed to blog since it had been so long since we updated. So much has happened in the last several weeks, we haven’t taken the time to write it down. The last update was about my language class. So let us tell you what we have been up to lately….
The language class is over and I am still a bit overwhelmed with the learning. I practice when I can. I asked the shop owner… we call him Kaafa (means grandfather), how much a coke was in Dhivehi. He responded with the amount and I gave the correct amount. He turned to the person next to me and said, “This is a good man.” He said it in Dhivehi and I understood him. I guess I’m making progress.
There is a place on the main island where they have 5 bumper cars. We took the kids as a reward for grades in school. Braden got to take a friends because he did extra special in school. While we were there, Kyndal met some new friends. We invited to our island and they are coming today at 2pm.
Braden has a friend named Aleef. I’ll let Braden type in his thoughts….
This is Braden, my days are pretty simple. It starts out at 8:00 when I eat breakfast. The next thing I do is get ready for school. School is okay, I just have to do Math, English, Science, History, Reading, Handwriting, and Spelling. I finish school at about 3:00. At 2:59 Aleef is ringing the doorbell. He normally comes in our house until 4:00 when we go to the beach in front of our house. We normally rome the beach listening to music and playing games on our cell phones. Most older kids have cell phones here. He comes most every day.
Angie is cleaning the house… pretty much a normal routine. She has a friend coming over at 1pm today and then Kyndal’s new friends and family at 2pm.
Kyndal and Angie are loving American Idol. It comes on about 4 times during the day here.
We had a tourist group here from Tulsa last week. We all went with them on the boat tour. We were able to visit some new islands and meet new people.
