Happy New Year

We waited up and saw in the new year like always. There were no fancy television broadcasts in our country dawning a new year by the dropping of a big fish into the ocean or anything, but we did find ourselves in 2007. We went to sleep and turned on CNN the next morning and watched New York, Key West, Chicago, San Antonio and Los Angeles all bring in the New Year in fashion. We decided to call our families this evening to wish them a Happy New Year and discovered that Bobby’s family was concerned about us because we hadn’t “checked in.“ All we saw on CNN in today was ”America bringing in the New Year.“ Apparently my family caught all the news from this side of the world. Well we were not caught up in a bomb blast in Bangkok, nor were we sinking with an overturned ferry boat in Indonesia. And those who are frustrated about Sadaam’s execution have not indicated to us that they are upset. We spent most of the day cleaning our apartment and rearranging our furniture… kind of a new year thing. We dont have a lot of options since we have 4 pieces of living room furniture and four walls, but we did manage to shake things up a bit. Since we dont have carpet, you might be surprised how much dust and lint can collect under a sofa or TV. We got it all cleaned up and it feels fresh and new. Just as we were leaving for the holidays, the wind began shifting to come from the east. Since our sliding door and balcony are on the east side of the house, it makes for a wonderful breeze and you can here the wind in the palm trees and hear the waves crashing on the shore. Ok, enough of the 80 degree weather talk as I know most of our readers are experiencing the 20’s right now. Hopefully no one we know is having to sleep in the Denver airport tonight because of all the snow.

I thought I would go ahead and publish some photos of our last few days in Kuala Lumpur. We went to a place called Times Square. When we first got there, Braden thought it was just another shopping mall and said, ”There is nothing to do at Times Square except waste time.“ He actually nicknamed it ”Waste of Time Square.“ Boy was he wrong. They have an in door amusement park and he rode his first big ride. When we got to the entrance, we had to pay for Braden on an adult ticket because he is taller than 4’-7”. This meant he couldn’t ride most of the “safe kid” rides and had to adventure onto the bigger rides. Let’s just say it was a good thing momma was there to hold his hand on the first one, but he really got the hang of it and was giving me a thumbs up by the end of the ride. Here are a few of the pictures.

Welcome to Cosmo’s World – Times Square – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – It only cost $30 for the whole family and we had to pay for Braden as an Adult.

Kyndal had to ride the Bumble Bees by herself, but she liked it.

Sometimes you have to tell your kids to smile for the picture, not this time.

Thanks to the operator of the Magic School Bus for taking our family picture.

This was Braden’s first big ride. This picture is at the end of the ride. I will spare his ego and not publish the pics of the beginning of the ride. We will save those for his first girlfriend.

Great shot Angie! This thing was going about 100 mph as you can see the guy in front of us trying to stay in the car. It seemed like the ride was about 30 minutes long and we just went in circles.

Angie and I both rode this ride. We had to ride by ourselves while the other waited with the kids. This is a picture of Angie. She is in the middle of the coaster on the right side with her hand up waving at us.
