Holidays & House
Shortly after the grandparents arrived we took them to an outer island to experience Eid. Eid is an Islamic holiday that is celebrated after Hadj Day (pilgrimage to Mecca). Anyway, Hadj Day and Thanksgiving Day were at the same time this year. We celebrated Thanksgiving with other Americans living in the islands and then set off for the outer island. It was a bumpy ride as the sea was not happy that day. Let's just say that there were more than a few that got to taste their breakfast again…. and again. We arrived on the island in time for the culture events but unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there. We still saw a lot of cultural stuff.
The day after we returned from the island, we moved into a new apartment. The apartment is a little bit bigger. We took advantage of the grandparents being around to help us. It's nice to have a plumber and electrician to help get the new house in working order. Will update with pics of the new place soon.
The rain has stopped for a day or so, so maybe we can spend some time in the sun before the grandparents leave.
