Kyndal’s First Run

Well she did it. I am sorry I am a little late in posting the results, but if you read our last entry entitled “4 Out Of 4“ it was about Kyndal wanting to run in the mornings. Braden and I ran early (which by the way he ran 1.5 miles – way to go Brado) and then we came back to get Kyndal out of bed. She was eager to get out and do her first run. Mom was pretty excited too, but only excited enough to photograph from the balcony. So thank you mom for the precious memories.

Here we are setting the watch to know how far and how fast we run. You can see I am already sweating as Braden and I have already done 1.5 miles.

Kyndal had the typical start of most novice runners…. the quick start. I said ”go“ and she took off. She looked back like, ”aren’t we going to run?“ I told her that we had to run slower if we are going to go a long way. She slowed to the pace we set for her.

As you can see, Kyndal followed our lead and joined our pace. This photo was taken at the half way point for Kyndal. I thought this would be all of the run, but she wanted to go further. We ran to the end of the island and back for a total of .5 miles. She ran a total of 5 minutes and 59 seconds. I was so proud of her. I left the same day for a small trip, but Mom said she was sore the next day. She said she was ready to go again.

Speaking of small trips. We will be going on an Island Safari this week. We are taking school on the road… or water as it is over here. We are going with some tourists to visit about 9 inhabited islands and cruise 4 atolls. It will be a lot of fun… I think. We will take lots of pictures and plan to post when we get back.
