Monsoon Change
When the climate changes in the islands, it is simply a change in wind direction. The sun still shines brightly on this equatorial county and the humidity remains at a nearly 100%. However, when the wind decides to change directions, it creates a bit of chaos. The sea gets crazy, storm clouds develop and rain comes and goes. You never know if you should take your umbrella or your sun visor.
So we are in the midst of the monsoon change in both the physical weather and with our learning center. Angie started a new English class this week. The class is a level 1 class and she has seven students. The class meets 2 days per week in our classroom on our island. We also welcomed two volunteer teachers to help us in our classes that will begin in a week or so. We have two more teachers to come in this weekend. We will be offering 23 total classes with an average of 10 people per class. You can imagine the chaos that is involved in securing visas, housing, transfers, students, curriculum, blah, blah, blah.
So needless to say, we have been super busy, but is sure is fun. We are excited about the new season. The season is upon us and there is not much more we can do but just enjoy it. I change hats from travel agent to principal regularly… usually several times a day. Everybody seems to be happy and doing their part to make this a reality.
