No More AC

So yeah… we are boycotting the electric company. Well not totally. We still need lights and fans, but we have decided we can live without air conditioning. Last month our air conditioning bill increased 40%. Yikes. We ran 3 air conditioner units (kind of like window units)during the day. We turned them off at night and just used the ceiling fans. We relied on the 3 units to cool the living room and kitchen… which didn't work very well. The local electric company has been in the red for years and has decided to get out of the red in one day…. ha ha. Well I'm not paying for it. The government has been subsidizing the company for years and has decided to stop. Instead of subsidizing the company, they have decided to subsidize households to pay the higher prices. So out of 18,000 electrical meters on the capital island, they are giving subsidies to 14,000. Guess who is not in the 14,000… you guessed it… me. So they think I'll pay their debt because I'm rich. I don't really think of myself as rich but simply blessed. Simply blessed, not simply stupid. I'm really looking forward to my next electric bill…. ever heard anybody say that?
