No Vote 4 Me

Just as I suspected. My absentee ballot never made it to the islands. I had to listen to all the campaign (for both the USA and the islands) and I didn't get to vote in either. Sure hope McCain does not lose by one vote. This reminds me of when was selected as an alternate juror in a court case. I spent a week taking copious notes on a case. When it came time to meet together as jurors and make a decision, they told me that they no longer needed me. I didn't get to vote then either.

Since all mail I receive here in the islands shows up about a month late, and stamped “miss-sent to Singapore” I’ll probably get my absentee ballot in January of 2009. I think I’m going to go ahead and vote then…. even if it’s too late.

Another subject…. I’ve been telling our landlord that the we have a leak in the kids bathroom. The workers have come in several times in our 2 years of living here in this house. The look up at the ceiling, grunt, say a few words I dont understand, and never come back to fix it. Today, the ceiling finally fell apart. I heard a big crash. It was a mess to clean up. Ugh… the worst part is that it hasn’t rained here in a couple of weeks. Yeah that means the leak is from the bathroom upstairs… I hope it’s water on it way to an appliance and not waste on its way to the ocean… yeah, that’s kind of gross too. Our sewer dumps right back into the ocean.
