Our Island

We tell people that we live on an island. It is true and some of our friends have come to visit just to make sure. The other day I was in a float plane headed to teach an English class to some resort staff and flew over our island. I thought I would take a picture for you to see where we live.

The distance around our island is 3 and half miles. It takes me about 12 minutes to ride my bike all the way around and I can run it in about 30 minutes. Our house is located at the bottom of the picture just below the long buildings with red roofs. Our house faces east and is near the beach side. It takes us about 10 minutes to walk to the west side of the island where we take a boat to the main island. Well, they say a picture is worth a 1000 words and since it takes me a lot of words to say something simple, I thought this picture would do us all some good.
