Ponopoly
Over the last couple of days of being in the new house, we have noticed that the floor in our bathroom never dries. We also noticed that the walls around the bathroom seem to be a little wet. We called in the Landlord and he called his workers and sure enough there was a busted water pipe under the tile in our bathroom. The workers showed up this morning to begin hammering and chiseling tile out of our bathroom in search for the leak. Since there were workers in our house all day, we took the opportunity to just hang out together and play a game.
We have the game Monopoly or Ponopoly as Kyndal likes to call it. We all sat in the floor of Kyndal’s room and played today as the workers were working in our bathroom. Let me remind you that Kindles room has A/C. Becky would have been so proud of little Kindy as she chose the dog as her token and went for Boardwalk and Parkplace. Braden went with the hat and took the light blues (Connecticut, Vermont and one other) and had hotels on them about 20 minutes into the game. I offered him the race car and I was going to take my dad’s usual token of the man on the horse, but he liked the hat so I stayed with the race car (my childhood favorite). Angie was the shoe. We were dealing and it brought back such good memories of playing together as a family when I was younger. I got to be the banker. Becky never let me be the banker! As I was explaining strategy and non-compassionate play to Braden, Angie said, “You are creating your very own Monopoly monster.” He is catching on quickly. About 30 minutes into the game Kyndal was bored and Angie and I took turns playing her turn. Like most Monopoly games everybody but the leader got bored and so we all said, “Let’s take a break and come back later.” Well we never went back. We declared Braden the winner and he was happy.
Braden has been having some stomach issues. He vomited (or womited as they like to say it here) the other night. He keeps saying his stomach is boiling again. I think we all know what that means. He seemed to be doing fine all day today so we went to the main island to eat. It was all Braden could do to not loose it on the boat ride over. He chose not to eat and we made it home with no womiting. Once we got home he acted fine again. He must have the first day of school jitters. Yeah, we begin home school tomorrow. Braden is starting the 4th grade and Kyndal the 1st grade.
Welp, I guess that’s about all. I tried to take some pics of the new apartment yesterday, but I cant seem to get far enough into one corner to get the whole room with my camera. I will keep trying. I will just take some candid shots of the kids and let you look in the background for the apartment. I will try to get some pics up this week. Keep us in your thoughts.
