San Angelo
We are now staying with my (Bobby) parents in their home in San Angelo. We drove in on Saturday and have had a great time seeing family and friends. We went to church on Sunday morning with my parents and then went to see some long time friends in Robert Lee. It was so good to see everyone there and to know how much they love us.
My parents have a pool in their backyard. (click here to see it) The green arrow points to their driveway, and their pool is just to the right of the green arrow. Anyway, I spent some time helping my dad with some chores around the house and then went swimming. The pool temperature was little cool as it rained a bit today. Oh, that reminds me. I thought I was struck by lightning today. Well, the good news is, I wasn’t but it was the closest I have ever been. It was really crazy. I was out in the backyard and I saw the light flash in front of me and heard the thunder all at the same time. Angie was behind me… she screamed and ran toward the house. I thought ducking from the lightning would protect me (I don’t know really what I was thinking, but ducking was a reflex!) I realized that the lightning hit very near me and that I probably should go back in the house and wait out the lightning storm before finishing the chores in the backyard.
After dinner, I went for a quick little jog while Angie helped my sister with the dishes. I only went 3 miles, but since I have only run once in past 4 weeks and I have gained 10 pounds since being in the USA, I thought 3 miles was a good re-start.
Tomorrow our anniversary. This means that as of 3:00 PM tomorrow, Angie and I will have been married for 14 years. Wow! We are going away for a couple of days. We are going to a lake cabin where there is no TV, telephone, computer, kids, or anything. We are going to spend 2 days… we both are really looking forward to it.
