Waterproof Camera and Bug Rice
The kids and I took the waterproof camera out in the ocean today. Braden was catching some waves on his boogie board and I was taking photos of Kyndal sitting on my surfboard. The waves started getting bigger so I gave the camera to Kyndal and took the board and went and joined Braden in the waves. When we got ready to leave, Kyndal showed me the camera. The battery door was open and the screen was covered with water spots. The camera is only water proof when the door stays shut. Well about 3 hours past, I wont give you the details of my frustration here, instead I will give you some history of another electronic that took a drink. My iPod got washed in the washing machine about a year ago. I read online of this trick about placing the iPod in a bowl of rice for a couple of days and let the rice absorb all the moisture. So… I mentioned that I needed some rice and Angie said, “Oh good, I just bought some that was full of bugs.” I picked up the camera tonight and the water spots were gone. My hope grew. The underwater camera is now under-rice (bug-rice) in the kitchen. Lets hope the rice and bugs do the trick.
